Javanese cats are named after the island of Java. Javanese result from a genetic accident resulting in Siamese with long hair. Javanese are not as vocal as Siamese Cats. Javanese do not have the traditional color combinations of Siamese; long haired Siamese with traditional coloring are called Balinese. (The island of Bali is next to the island of Java.)
